COURSE NARRATIVE
This course was really interesting as it took a part of my culture emphasis. I enjoyed this class because it was one of the first online classes I took at CSUMB. I was scared at first because I thought that maybe learning about Spanish culture online was going to be a challenge, but it was not difficult. The professor, Aldrete, made it really easy to understand for those of us taking the class. He provided materials, readings, and videos for us to better understand what each unit was about. Unlike all my other Spanish courses, this one was taught in english and I was able to enjoy it because I learned about history in the Aztlan culture. This online class taught me a different and unknown part that I was not familiar with from the conquest. I learned about how it begun and the consequences that were left behind after it. I also learned about the Braceros coming to the United States for work and how that movement was in history. We also learned about the Zoot Zoots in the United States of America. The textbook Mexicanos by Manuel Gonzalez was very useful and handy. It had a lot of history and a lot of parts that I did not know happened in history. This class was really interesting and fun, after this class I learned to like online classes.
