PRE-CAPSTONE for SPANISH MAJORS
Directed toward Spanish majors preparing for their Capstone experience, this 2 unit course aims to guide the student in the process of completing a capstone proposal and initiating the preliminary steps toward the graduation portfolio. The portfolio provides evidence that a student is making satisfactory progress toward meeting the Core requirements and Major Learning Outcomes (MLOs) for the Spanish B.A. Obtained from CSUMB Course Catalog.
course narrative
With capstone approaching me, this class was beyond helpful with providing guidance and assistance. SPAN 300 helped me get a much clearer and specific picture of what i wanted to present as my capstone, which was the main purpose of this class. During this semester I was asked to begin my research into what I wanted to talk about, and present. It had to be something that really captured my attention and of course something that has not been done yet in previous years. This is because the professors and instructors wanted to make sure that each student was capable of presenting something with such depth and understanding as how they taught us. This class was a rollercoaster for me. I noticed that I underestimated the challenge of choosing a topic when all the ideas I had at first were not specific enough or repeated in the past by a former student. By the middle of the semester I was able to come up with a topic that interested me and that has luckily not been repeated before. With the guidance of Dr. Urioste I was able to finally choose my topic and begun the search for all my resources for my capstone. My capstone parter and I were able to have a clear outline of how we were going to go about it by the end of the course.
